Tunis Showcases African Leather Industry

Meet in Africa, the most important trade event for the African leather industry, brings together the African and international leather sectors. The event gives African entrepreneurs greater access to regional and overseas market opportunities. At the same time, it shows international buyers the potential of the African leather sector.

Fish Products

The fish product sector is an important one for LDCs. Export turnover totals more than US$ 1.5 billion (of which US$ 0.9 billion comes from molluscs and crustaceans). Several LDCs are active in this sector: around 18 LDCs export frozen shrimps and prawns.

African Leather Industry to Meet in Casablanca

ITC is organizing its second “Meet in Africa” event in Casablanca, Morocco, from 25 September to 2 October. The meeting is organized in partnership with the SIC Group, a major trade fair organizer for the leather industry. The first Meet in Africa event (Cape Town, November 1998) brought together nearly 1,000 participants from 58 countries, representing the biggest gathering of African leather sector professionals to date.
